Material Matters

Material Matters uses old linens and cast-off household fabrics as the material and the meaning in this current body of work. The installation Material Matters explores the intimate connection towels, sheets and pillowcases have with the body, the domestic realm and daily life. Cloth washes, wipes, is worn and slept on and holds physical evidence of our existence. Each piece is hand-sewn, embroidered and embellished to create unique work that is a meditation on the passage of time, the physical experiences of the body from the unique perspective of a mother, woman and wife.
